Fred has significant trial and appellate experience. Fred's efforts through the years were recognized the the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association (now the Washington State Association for Justice) which gave him the 1997 Public Justice Award and by the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington which gave him its highest honor, the William O. The Best of the Best
I feel extremely satisfied to have had Fred represent my family when we were injured in a car accident. My husband and I had pre-existing injuries and as a result the insurance company tried to bully my family to end our medical treatment early and threatened not to pay our medical bills. Fred worked diligently to be sure that not only our medical providers were reimbursed but that we earned a fair settlement for our pain and suffering. Fred was a strong advocate and allay to us in a time of great vulnerability. He even provided support in the form of accompanying my husband and I to doctors visits when our Insurance company tried to challenge our medical treatment! I would recommend Fred Diamondstone to anyone faced with a situation where he has experience. He is very straight forward, knowledgeable and helpful. He is the best of the best.
Fred's appellate wins include
* Chambers-Castanes v. King County (1983) - where the Washington Supreme Court expanded the ability of crime victims to sue the government for failure to act in cases where a special relationship was created as the result of a 911 call.
* Wharf v. Burlington Northern RR (1996) - where Fred successfully won a new trial for his client due the railroad's lawyers' misconduct at trial, which misled the jury into believing that plaintiff still had his job, when those same lawyers were involved in "taking plaintiff out of service" during closing argument.
* Plemmons v. Pierce County (2006) - The Court of Appeals upheld a trial court decision in class action case over Pierce County's illegal policy of unlawful strip searches at the county jail.
* Osborne v Seymour (2011) - The Court of Appeals upheld a verdict against a Pierce County Sheriff's Sergeant who helped a fellow deputy violate a domestic protection order.
